I baked apple bread and it tasted wonderful. There's nowhere to buy bread now, I only hope I have enough stock of flour. Come to think of it, it should've been the first on my list. I used spelt flour here, I prefer using alternative flours that have a higher protein content, for the little one. #baking
Leia's plate. We try to eat as healthy as we can, for as long as we can. We can't say for sure what the future holds, but we try to keep going for the little one. We'll just make do if we run out of money or access to fresh food. For now, its as if the world is not in chaos. I suppose for the little one, it really is not. Both her parents are here and she sees her extended family more than she ever did. So, I guess that's it. I just know she misses school because she tells me the names of her classmates and teacher. Having a child in times of crises is really complicated.
Before we found out that we can't even get things delivered now, we were in a happy zone with the spices. We usually get random spices when we travel and move around. But we haven't moved around much since the baby and almost not at all since the beginning of this year. It finally caught up on the spice stash. I know this is a luxury right now, but food needs herbs and spices for flavor! Toddler loves them too. We finally found a supplier but we had to "quarantine" the spices for 24 hours first. The spice rack was replenished somewhat, the smell was intoxicating, and the colors vibrant. I wanted to take photos but little one woke up from her nap and I had to clear the cayenne before she gets to it. If only I can send out the smell of this, so amazing. Anyway, I still need to find suppliers to get us by. We have no quarantine pass and we haven't accessed our atms in like 3 weeks. Online ordering was our lifeline but it is congested now. Sigh. We shall survive to experience better days again. For spices, contact @theurbanspices . They are great to talk to and they have quality products!
Outdoor play while the parents are busy having their afternoon tea. They can really invent their own game at this point. #toddlernarratives #toddlerplay
As outside as we're ever going to be. For now. Thank goodness for this small garden. I need my sun and wind. Picnic, while remembering the good old days and hoping for more beauty to come. Eventually.
Of simple joys and tinkling laughter... #toddlernarratives #toddlerplay
