birthday wishes

i have to admit that there are some birthday wishes that did not come true. but. people, especially my students did their best to make this day special. and i cant tell you how happy you made me. i thought people forgot me due to late texts and calls. but it aint over till the fat lady sings. hahaha. people eventually called, texted and messaged me online, especially email, friendster and most of all, facebook. each and everyone of you, thank you for going out of your way to make me feel happy and special. especially you students. i love teaching you. its almost not a job anymore but its almost a game that i would like to keep on playing. though you drive me insane often enough, you students, are my sanity. its an honor to teach you. there is something very satisfying when i see you learn and love art through my guidannce. thank you so much. again, see you in class.

In behalf of BS Chem 111,, we would like to dedicate this poem to Ma’am placino!
TO A LADY, ON HER BIRTHDAY
    Lady, I wish thee happiness
    On this thy natal day;
    May peace and calm serenity
    Forever with thee stay.
I’ll ask old Time as he steals past,
    Relentless though he be,
To touch thee lightly, and to deal
    Most tenderly with thee.
I’ll ask the days as they go on
    To their eternal rest,
To leave behind them, just for thee,
Those things you love the best.
I’ll ask the hours, as they trip by,
    If any gift there be
Among their treasures that is choice,
To leave that gift for thee.
And if there be a secret wish
    Close hidden in thy breast,
I’ll ask to have that wish fulfilled,
    And given with the rest.
May flowers of grace, and blooms of love
    From amaranthine bowers,
Be culled for thee, and on thee fall
    In soft ambrosial showers.
Now may that peace which passeth all
    We here can comprehend,
Be with thee, and remain with thee,
    When all birthdays shall end.

    On the Mood to write:

Birthday is not at all wishing for some things..
It is meant to remember God’s given grace in the past years of our life
We may not be as wealthy and as gorgeous as other maybe
but Love do surrounds us, you’ll see

ahahah,, wala lang poh yan ma’am hahhaha, nagpapaka emo!!

@maryrose wow. as in WOW. im so touched. thanks chem students. i cant find the proper words right now. but i am so touched. thank you so much. it is students who care and students who love learning who makes teaching worthwhile.

and yes, i know, there are a lot of worderful things in this life, and we should just focus on that. the hardest things are actually to accept that you cant have even the simplest things, those that doesn’t cost anything, but is actually worth a lot.

and my whole name is actually maria portia olenka cabuyao placino

@djoaniel thanks for the birthday greeting. thanks for remembering. and… well… chill… they’re kids, some, very new to blogging. to some of the kids who read djoaniel’s comment, ayun, so proper words daw. be sensitive. chill na djoaniel ha 🙂

KITSCH. In all caps. A few years ago, I needed foreign examples to discuss Umberto Eco's Faith in Fakes. Now, its right smack in the metro. Any doubt would be drowned in lurid shades of pink. I would need to channel my inner Fitzgerald to tell the story of how I ended up here in the first place. It might be a diamond as big as the Ritz, ironically, one of the stops. The amount of resources being channeled to create the KITSCH of all kitsches is fantastic, indulgence amidst indigence. #manila Lost Uber and traffic. Basically, Manila. Lol. #manila Five spice chicken wings. #gamerchef #weekend #lunch Received from the mail yesterday. Great memories in this book. Something for my research as well.
