I will post my writings and musings on art, culture, history, philosophy, aesthetics, literature, and life, among other things, in this blog. It’s a liberating feeling, to be able to write outside the confines of book articles and journals. This is the best part of blog writing for me.

My partner said that it is my love letter to the world and that I should say what I want here. I couldn’t agree more. I put my words out there, and I hope that even a small speck of the world would listen.

This blog is almost six years old now. It started as a repository of my notes, powerpoint presentations, and class records. It evolved so much that it is hardly recognisable from its origin. I don’t necessarily see that as a bad thing.

My personal photographs are almost always present in my posts, and I don’t see that part changing any time soon. I’ve stood behind the lens since I was a teenager. Though I’ve stopped lugging around a professional camera, as I want to participate in the moment more, I still take a lot of snapshots.

I’ve also posted my writings for my master’s classes here. At one point, I intended for this to be a portfolio. But I felt that it is too limiting, and there are already too many limitations that we have to live with. It’s about time to break barriers instead.

Writing in a blog is not necessarily something that goes against academic writing. Umberto Eco once wrote in Travels in Hyperreality that there should be no conflict, instead it is our responsibility to respond to social and political issues of the world thru popular channels. And I agree completely.

So now, I will post what I want. I will try to write it well, as best as I can. If I’m sending out a voice out there, it might as well be a meaningful one.

Was stressing that the little one was not eating well in the past few days. She's transitioning to roughly mashed food and softly boiled/thinly cut ones. There were feeding times that she only wants to self-feed and would only take rice puffs and rice crackers. But today at school she munched on brocolli florettes and boiled pumpkins. For snack, I decided to flavor her rice cereal with a bit of pomegranate juice. And for dinner, we cooked pumpkin with nutmeg. She loved both of the things we prepared. Though I realized I did not follow the 3-4 days wait rule to detect possible allergies. Here's to hoping it will be alright. Yummy yum yum! #babyfood #babynarratives
The little one is 9 months old. Stranger danger, tantrums, clingyness, and sleep regression has befallen us. But, she's also pulling up and standing, walking while holding on to objects, eating a lot, and even self-feeding. Today, we even discovered that she can munch on small strips of brocolli and pumpkin. It looks like she's ready for spoon-feeding and baby-led weaning combination! She also got seriously sick, but she fought it like a champion. I think the best things I've heard about her are that she is tough and happy. Through her sickness, her pedia kept on telling me that she's matibay, tougher than babies older than her. Then we hear a lot that she's such a happy baby. When we were hanging out with @cerulean_ciphers, we understood what a bouncing baby literally meant. I often find myself asking the little one if I can borrow some of her happiness. But that's just it, that's the very gift of her existence. Onwards little one, we shall have a lot adventures soon enough! #babynarratives

The little one enjoyed her special quality time with her tita @cerulean_ciphers :) She enjoyed it so much that she passed out while waiting for our ride and she's still sleeping! Thank you for spending Saturday with us. Time is indeed the best gift, though the London haul is wow. Looking forward to our next food/chika/play session. #babynarratives
