Another trip down the rabbit hole

20130104-091405.jpg
Being out of the country twice in a month feels like going down a rabbit hole. You are plunged in a strange place, everything is a rush, and you always feel like you’re late. It’s a wild chase about everything. I never had the time to write everything, not even a travel journal. But what I took with me is a tiny camera, to look into the strange world that I have been plunged into.

I didn’t travel just to travel. I was there for conferences and it was always the first order of business. After that came the museum and gallery tours, some are part of the conference while others I go out of my way to reach. I look forward to sharing those travels here. It is the question of time which is always the constraint.

I feel things are slowly settling down. Or not. Hopefully, I get more opportunities to share my stories and my academic writings at the same time. It is a matter of breathing after you surface and getting your bearings together after riding a fantasy.

If I can write longer than JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit on Facebook, I’m pretty sure I can handle some blog posts. Here’s to more art stories and more adventures to come along the way!

I met Tita Cherry and Tito Carlo today. Mommy and Tita Cherry have known each other since they were in elementary school! Hope we get to hang out more. I was passed out in the sling here, as I was fussing while Mommy, Daddy, and Grandmother were trying to find a sturdier diaper bag. Small world! #baby #babynarratives
My day out with grandmother. She brought me cake from the mountains! Then we went shopping. I am a fond of going out but I'm not a big fan of malls. They are too bright and overwhelming. I smiled and chatted with grandmother better, but I get fussy when I am out too long. I have monkey socks on because I managed to mess up all of my mittens in just a few days. Lol. #baby #babynarratives
Leia Freyalise Egwene, the first month. Of crying, screaming, sunshine, stroll rides, and music. #baby #babynarratives
I choose you Pikachu! Leia Freyalise Egwene is now one month old. She likes music, fresh air, and sunshine. She turns red when she cries and she hates getting her nose cleaned. She loves chatting and singing, and being outdoors. She likes stroll rides and car rides, and we hope she will also like train rides and plane rides in the future. Just like her parents, she loves to eat and she's not much for socializing. We hope to take a better photo tomorrow, by the time the cake arrived, it was nap time, followed by eating time, and changing time, and tantrum time, and more eating time. We risked Pikachu but he escaped unscathed. As per her last check-up, Leia is 3.4 kg, giving her Mommy a difficult time in carrying her. #pikachu #baby #babynarratives
Four weeks ago, Leia Freyalise Egwene was born via emergency cesarean section. I think its about time we share her complicated birth story... #babynarratives
Our first dinner outside in four weeks. We ate here the night before I went into labor. I was already feeling heavy and crappy that time, but #gamerchef convinced me to go out so I can eat my favorite comfort food--grilled cheese, chocolate cookie, and coke. Now there's three of us. Our server remembered us and congratulated us on the baby. Tired, but happy. #baby #babynarratives
