Another trip down the rabbit hole

Being out of the country twice in a month feels like going down a rabbit hole. You are plunged in a strange place, everything is a rush, and you always feel like you’re late. It’s a wild chase about everything. I never had the time to write everything, not even a travel journal. But what I took with me is a tiny camera, to look into the strange world that I have been plunged into.

I didn’t travel just to travel. I was there for conferences and it was always the first order of business. After that came the museum and gallery tours, some are part of the conference while others I go out of my way to reach. I look forward to sharing those travels here. It is the question of time which is always the constraint.

I feel things are slowly settling down. Or not. Hopefully, I get more opportunities to share my stories and my academic writings at the same time. It is a matter of breathing after you surface and getting your bearings together after riding a fantasy.

If I can write longer than JRR Tolkien’s The Hobbit on Facebook, I’m pretty sure I can handle some blog posts. Here’s to more art stories and more adventures to come along the way!

KITSCH. In all caps. A few years ago, I needed foreign examples to discuss Umberto Eco's Faith in Fakes. Now, its right smack in the metro. Any doubt would be drowned in lurid shades of pink. I would need to channel my inner Fitzgerald to tell the story of how I ended up here in the first place. It might be a diamond as big as the Ritz, ironically, one of the stops. The amount of resources being channeled to create the KITSCH of all kitsches is fantastic, indulgence amidst indigence. #manila Lost Uber and traffic. Basically, Manila. Lol. #manila Five spice chicken wings. #gamerchef #weekend #lunch Received from the mail yesterday. Great memories in this book. Something for my research as well. Thanks for this @heejung19 :) #mmca #residency #changdong GP Manila Staycation Edition. Find St. Lol. #gpmanila #mtg #magicthegathering Grand Prix Manila 2017 Food Trip Edition. We spotted a crowded, authentic looking Chinese restaurant last night. Tried it and they have great Beijing/Szechuan dishes. Yay GP vacation! #gpmanila #mtg #magicthegathering
