Getting the domain back

Lumphini Park, Bangkok, Thailand, January 2015

I finally got my domain back. I had some financial and practical restrictions when I was due to renew my domain. When I can finally do so, I am being charged a lot in terms of penalty. As I do not have a budget for that, I let it go, hoping that it will be released in time. Now is that time.

I’ve had trouble writing in the past two years. I think the fear finally got to me. I’ve been battling with that fear for quite some time. I fear that what I write is not good enough, that I am not good enough. Then, I read Lippy’s writing about creating. The important thing is to keep on creating. No matter how bad you think it is, you must keep on going. This really hit me hard. Keep on writing. Even if its bad, even if it needs improvement. It won’t improve, it won’t be good, unless I write again. And I shall write again.

It was a beautiful past few years though. I went to a lot of places, met a lot of people, and had a great time experiencing new things. St, a friend of mine, told me once, that maybe I just need to experience these things so I will have a lot of things to write about when I have the time. Now, I intend to make that time. I hope I can translate all these great learnings to words. Maybe words wouldn’t be enough, yet, I will translate what I can.

I am still unable to finish Marcel Proust’s Swann’s Way. I’ve picked it up and left it several times already. But I shall keep on reading it. It is inspiring me to write again. Details of my life and travels may get vaguer in time, but it changed me irrevocably. I want to use Proust in recalling these memories. It is a journey and it cannot be rushed. But moving forward, no matter how slowly, is important.

I now keep a Day in a Page journal, a gift from my partner Ian. Its helping me write as well. I fill it with thoughts and reflections. I may not write in it everyday, but I do try to catch up. I fill pages from my memories, even if its been a few days past. Memories will never be perfect, but what keep there can be perfect. Its as close as we’re ever going to get.

Write to please yourself, no one else! Write from the heart, write what you truly feel and you will always be happy. The genuineness of your writing will translate to the reader and they will enjoy it too! You can do it!!! 🙂

Little one really loves her broccoli! So funny! She loves her fruits and vegetables snacks. If you want to try this, better be prepared, coz she likes feeding us whatever it is that she's eating. So no cringing! We actually like broccolli so its fine when she wants us to take a bite. We keep a big bag of frozen broccoli so we just steam some for her if we're out of ideas for food. Toddlers can be sooo challenging, but they do have their adorable moments. #babyfood #babynarratives
Cheesy tomato pasta. Yum! We've been feeding little one pasta and she loves it! So happy, we get to mostly eat a lot of the same things. And we're so proud when she habitually rejects the kiddie spaghetti that's usually available for parties. I really do not like the kiddie spaghetti version with canned tomato sauce and hotdogs. Just no. So we just keep on feeding her the different pasta dishes we do like and hope for the best. #babyfood #babynarratives
Little one did not like the lemon snaps at all. More for me! Lol. So far, this is the only cookie that works for her, very subtle flavor. Also works to pacify her when you ate her leftover pasta coz you think she was done, then she comes back looking for her pasta. Uh-oh. #babyfood #babynarratives
Walking with the not so little one. Summer is sooo not our friend. But we try to go out and be cool about it. #babynarratives
Taste testing cookies and biscuits that I can let the little one eat with her whole milk. This one is ok, though might still be a tad sweet. The Cadia vanilla wafers are better and not too sweet, but pricier. Any suggestions for toddler treats and/or emergency munchies? #babyfood #babynarratives
Today is the last day of Leia's Infant Development Program. What a year it has been. We are so thankful to have this community, this family, in the first year of Leia's life. They've been there with us in the rollercoaster of infancy. Leia blossomed in the program as she got used to other people and other babies. So young and already so many friends. This was our village for the past year and I am more grateful than I could ever express. Our babies are now toddlers are we are just so proud of their journey. We will see you all again soon, we feel so lucky to have this love and support. #babyschool #babynarratives
